Dear madam /sir
A sanitary pad is a true necessity to a woman. To those more fortunate, it is often taken for granted but for the young girls and woman living in the many children’s homes and refugee camps, it is a luxury. These woman and girls have food, clothing, shelter and education problems to worry about and more often than not they will resort to using cloth, newspaper or tissue as an alternative. The use of which is unhygienic, uncomfortable and endangers their health. Our organisation seeks to assist these girls/women by providing them with pads (sanitary pads) every month.
We also aim to create awareness concerning women and their menstrual cycles. Many young impoverished girls miss up to five days of schooling a month because they do not have sanitary pads. We want to not only reduce that number, but eradicate it.
Our organization also educates women, both young and old, that having your period is not dirty or inhuman but natural and a beautiful phenomenon that God gave us as a sign that we are women. We will also educate, with the help of a nurse who will accompany us when delivering the pads to the homes, women and girls about hygiene when it comes to their menstrual cycles.
We humbly ask you to pledge a packet(s) of pads every month in order to make a difference in that woman or little girl’s life. This is an opportunity for you to contribute in changing the world in your own special way!
